Researchy stuff!
Okay, guys, this is stuff that I use for research--which is generally to come up with names for my characters, but you know. It's always nice to know how my thought process works, isn't it? XD
- Godchecker.com This is the site I generally use for bad guys, most often in the Ronin Warriors fandom (or for my original novels). The biggest reason I use this site is that the descriptions of the gods amuse the hell out of me.
- BabyNames.com This is one of many sites I use for more generic names.
- Behind the Name This one I use to double-check the meanings of names, and find names for both good guys and bad guys. It's quite fun!
- Timless Myths I, uh, don't actual recognize this site, but it's in my research folder! I think I used it to check out Norse gods at one point.
- Fairies World I'm actually not a big fan of fairies, but this seemed to be a worthwhile site for reading about them, so I bookmarked it...just in case.
- Cracked.com Article Archives This has some truly awesome articles that are good for inspiration. Example: my favorite one is "5 Real Life Soldiers Who Make Rambo Look Like a Pussy" and I'm not making that title up.
- Minotaur's Sex Tips for Slash Writers Er, yeah. This is something I may or may not use, depending on whether I ever get brave enough to write actual sex scenes. You'd think it'd be easier now that I've had sex myself, but nooo.
- Handbook of Space Astronomy and Astrophysics Yeah, I'd hope this one is pretty self-explanatory.
- Wikipedia Honest. I use this when I don't really care too much about accuracy (and also for procrastination).
- Theria.net She has the Yoroiden Temple archived, so I generally use it to check up on my Ronin Warriors facts.
- Chaotic Shiny It's all generators, mostly geared toward the D&D playing crowd, but works well enough for fiction as well.
- Creating an Earthlike Planet Sci-fi, baby.
- Fantasy Rants These are a bunch of rants some random person did regarding the writing of fantasy stories. They amuse me. :3
- The Grand List of Fantasy Cliches Because sometimes it's good to know what not to write.
- Kingdom Hearts Height Reference It's pretty much a post in a rant comm with pictures of the characters and how tall they are in relation to each other. I love how short Xigbar is oh my god.
- Ronin FAQ Yet another fact-checking thing for Ronin Warriors.
- The Union of the Snake This is a lovely manifesto regarding Snape that I find to be pretty awesome and accurate.
- Random Title Generator Yes, this is still on my site. But the site this generator was originally on took down the actual generator and left us the code, so I decided to nab the code for my own use.
- World Builder Projects Another site for world-building (of which I am very fond.
- EchoEcho.com This is the site I use to teach myself nifty HTML skills
- Special Characters in HTML

- Color Chart This is a chart containing the hexadecimal codes for the 216 safe colors
- Bras Beyond DD As a woman with an unusual bra size (I've been told both 28DDD and 32DD), I feel like it's completely necessary to spread this information around. A lot of the links on this site are out of date, though. And, ladies, I don't care what bra size you think you wear: I urge you to get fitted. Nothing is so fantastic as a well-fitting bra.
